About

About Kisumu Lessons

A small editorial desk that writes about gold (XAU/USD) trading for readers in Kenya, and explains plainly who runs it and how it earns.

Who runs this desk

Kisumu Lessons is run by a small editorial team that writes and maintains these pages itself. We are not a broker, not a bank and not a licensed financial adviser, and nothing here should be read as personal advice.

We do not publish staff names, registration numbers or office addresses, because we would rather leave those out than print something we cannot verify. What we can tell you is what we do: read broker documents, date what we read, and write down what a Kenyan reader would actually face when opening, funding and withdrawing an account.

How the desk is paid

Affiliate links are the only revenue this desk has. If you open an account with a broker through a link on this site, the broker may pay us, and that payment is what keeps the writing going.

That arrangement never buys a rating and never hides a weakness. A broker cannot pay to move up a ranking, cannot pay to remove a limitation from a page, and cannot pay us to leave out a funding problem or a withdrawal complaint. If the documents show a drawback, it gets written down in the same place as everything else.

What we will not do

We will not claim to be regulated, licensed or supervised, because we are not. The one regulator fact we state about brokers is the one we can rely on: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya.

We also will not manage money, recommend a position size for your situation, or act as a middleman between you and a broker's support desk. Readers in Kenya fund through M-Pesa and hold accounts in KSh or USD, and those practical details are the ones we try to get right rather than sell around.

FAQ

Common questions

Who actually writes and runs Kisumu Lessons?

Kisumu Lessons is an independent editorial desk, not a broker and not a licensed adviser. The content is written and maintained by our own trading-desk writers, who focus on gold (XAU/USD) for Kenyan readers, using KSh amounts where it helps. We do not hold client funds, place trades for anyone, or act on behalf of any company.

How does this site make money if the tools are free?

The site earns from affiliate arrangements: when a reader opens an account with a broker we mention, such as FxPro, we may receive a referral payment. That payment never changes the facts we publish or the risk warnings we carry. It does mean you should treat our broker mentions as commercial links, not as impartial recommendations.

Is Kisumu Lessons regulated by the CMA?

No. We are a publisher, not a licensed investment firm, so the Capital Markets Authority does not license us. For the broker itself, the exact position is: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya. Check that sentence before you fund any account.

Why does a gold-focused desk write about FxPro specifically?

FxPro is the broker we use for worked examples because it publishes support for MT4, MT5, cTrader and the FxPro app, so we can point to a named platform set. We are not saying it suits every reader. Compare its costs, its entity for Kenya and your own risk tolerance before opening anything.

Does the desk trade gold with its own money?

Our writers follow XAU/USD closely and use the same calculators we publish, including the position size, pip value and margin tools. That is research and illustration, not a managed service. We do not pool money, run a fund, or accept deposits from readers, and no figure on this site is a promise of a return.
