FAQ

Common questions

Which calculator tells me the right lot size for my account?

The position size calculator does that. You enter your account balance, the risk you are willing to take and your stop distance in pips, and it returns a lot size. For gold, remember one pip is 0.01 and one standard lot is 100 oz, so a wide stop quickly shrinks the size.

How do I convert a gold move in dollars into shillings?

Use the profit calculator to get the result in US dollars, then convert at the rate your bank or M-Pesa agent applies. The exact KSh figure depends on the USD/KSh rate at the time and any conversion charge, so treat the shilling number as an estimate, not a settled amount.

What is the difference between the pip value and margin calculators?

The pip value calculator tells you what one pip of movement is worth at your lot size, which is the basis for sizing a stop. The margin calculator tells you how much of your balance is tied up to hold the position. They answer different questions and are usually used together.

Can the pivot point tool help me plan entries on XAU/USD?

The pivot points calculator gives reference levels from the prior session's high, low and close. Traders use them to mark possible support and resistance and to place stops and targets. They are a planning aid, not a prediction, and gold can trade straight through them on news.

Do I need to enter my broker login to use these calculators?

No. The calculators run on the inputs you type in, such as lot size, price and stop distance, and do not connect to any trading account. That means the outputs reflect your assumptions only, so check them against your broker's own contract specifications before relying on them.
