Educational material only, with the risk of gold CFDs stated plainly and figures that must be checked against the broker.

Educational material, not advice

Everything on this site is educational material. It is not advice, not a recommendation and not an offer to buy or sell any instrument, and it is not tailored to your circumstances, your balance or your goals.

We are not a broker, bank or licensed adviser, and we do not hold client money. Decisions about whether to trade gold (XAU/USD), and at what size, are yours, and the account relationship you form is with the broker you choose.

The risk you are taking

CFDs on gold carry a high risk of loss and most retail accounts lose money. Leverage is a cap that applies to the entity serving this country, not a setting to aim at, and using more of it widens the loss as readily as the gain.

On gold, one standard lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01, so small price moves translate into real money quickly. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of a result, and no page should be read as one.

Dated figures and affiliate links

Figures on this site are dated and must be verified with the broker before you rely on them. Costs such as spreads, commissions, swaps and minimum deposits depend on the account type and the entity, so open the broker's own documents and read the current version.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means the broker may pay us if you open an account through them, at no extra cost to you. Your relationship is with that broker, and the one regulator fact we state is this: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya.

FAQ

Common questions

What exactly is Kisumu Lessons?

It is an educational publishing desk covering gold (XAU/USD) for readers in Kenya. It is not a broker, not a fund manager and not a licensed investment adviser, and it does not execute orders or hold client funds. Everything here is general information and arithmetic, not a personal recommendation.

What risk am I taking by trading gold with leverage?

Leveraged gold trading is high-risk and you can lose more than you deposit. A 0.10-lot position is 10 oz, and because one pip is 0.01, small price moves translate into real money quickly. The margin figure, about $85.50 at the applicable cap for a 0.10-lot position, is a requirement, not a limit on your loss.

Does the site guarantee any result or figure?

No. We publish formulas and worked examples, not forecasts or promises. Spreads, swaps, margins and outcomes depend on the broker entity, market conditions and your own decisions, and none of those are fixed. Treat every figure as an illustration you should re-check before risking money.

Whose rules apply if I open an account through a link here?

The broker's own terms and the rules of its licensing regulator apply to your account, not ours. For clarity on the broker we discuss: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya. Read the client agreement and the risk disclosure before funding.

Can I rely on this site's content as advice?

No. The content is general and does not account for your income, debts, experience or goals, so it cannot substitute for advice from someone licensed to give it. If you are unsure whether leveraged gold suits you, do not fund an account on the strength of a page you read here.
