Corrections and Re-checks

How an error is fixed, how a reader reports one, and why a change in conditions is not the same thing as a mistake.

Fixed in place, with a date

An error is corrected in place and carries a dated note explaining what changed, so a reader who saw the earlier version can see that it moved. Nothing is quietly edited and passed off as if it had always read that way.

We keep the correction narrow. The sentence or figure that was wrong is replaced, the note says what it was and what it now is, and the rest of the page is left alone unless the same mistake runs through it."},{"h2":"How to report one

paras":["Report an error by writing to [email protected] and saying which page and which sentence or figure you mean. If you can point to the broker document that contradicts us, that shortens the work considerably.

We do not promise a response time, but every report is read. A report that turns out to be correct is logged as a correction; one that turns out to be a disagreement about interpretation gets answered as such rather than dressed up as a fix.

A re-check is not an error

A condition that merely changed since we checked is a re-check, not an error. If a broker alters its funding options, its platform list or the entity serving Kenya after our dated reading, the old page was accurate when written and the fix is a fresh check with a new date.

That distinction matters for how we word things. We date every check and describe costs in terms of what they depend on, precisely so that a later change reads as the world moving rather than as the desk having got it wrong.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I report a mistake on a page?

Send the page address and the exact sentence or figure you believe is wrong, plus any source you have. Small, specific reports are easiest to act on. We check against our source notes and the worked example, then either correct the page or explain why the wording stands.

How quickly are corrections made?

Timing depends on what is wrong. A broken formula or a mislabelled unit is treated as urgent and fixed as soon as it is confirmed, while a wording dispute may take longer to resolve. We do not promise a fixed number of hours, but every confirmed substantive error is logged with the date it was fixed.

Will you show that a page was changed?

Yes, for substantive changes. We note what was wrong, what it now says and when the fix went in, so a reader who relied on the old wording can see the difference. Minor edits such as typos are cleaned up without a log entry, because they do not change meaning or numbers.

What if I disagree with a correction you made?

Reply with the reasoning and any source, and we will look again. We would rather argue the point than leave a wrong figure up. If the disagreement is about market conditions rather than a stated fact, we will say so plainly, since spreads, swaps and margins move with conditions we cannot pin down.

Do you correct broker facts if the broker changes them?

Yes. When a broker changes what it publishes, such as platform support or its licensing position, we update the page and note it. The regulator sentence we carry is fixed wording: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya. If that ever changes, the page changes with it.
